When first starting this book I wasn't sure about it. It seemed like Luke and Ella's relationship progressed really fast. I was kind of annoyed with how much back and forth happened between them. Luke comes on pretty strong in the beginning but the immediately decides that this is not a good idea. I really wasn't Luke's biggest fan at first, there were a lot of times I was really suspicious of the way he was acting. I really felt bad for Ella a lot through this book. Ella is a loner and already has a lot of issues to deal with so every time Luke pulled away I don't blame her for how she took it. I just wish she would make him grovel more before immediately accepting his apology for his crazy behavior. However as it got closer to the end of the book something changed and I couldn't put the book down. Ella seemed to get a little stronger. I liked getting some of Luke's poverty towards the end to it really helped with understanding him better.
The ending is a really big cliff hanger which I was warned about. I am looking forward to the next book.

Love love love it. Can't wait for the next one!!!
Where can I get the next book!??? I loved never say goodbye and need to know the trust of the story!!!
Wow, what a ride! An emotional roller coaster of young love. Life isn't always pretty, and this book melds heartbreak and love beautifully.
This book at first had me wondering at first if Luke was actually going to be with Ella or not. I really enjoyed reading this and now I can not wait to see what happen in part 2. I am trying to find release date for part 2.
I knew I was going to love this book as soon as I started it and it didn't disappoint. It was an amazing book that had my emotions all over the place and i love that! Can not wait to read more by this very talented author!
3 stars
Although I liked the writing style, I had a difficult time keeping up with the changing POV, even having to go back and reread. I also wish Ella were stronger; no matter how many times Luke hurt her, she went running back.
Tough subject matter, but written about well.
Wow, this book deals with a lot of subjects that you normally don't find. Depression, anxiety, self mutilation...all are included in this book. I loved the premise of the book. The outcast and the popular boy fall in love. However, I went back and forth on disliking the characters. Ella went through hell to be with Luke. His psycho ex attacks her and another ex is continually working to create drama...and while Ella gets upset and walks away, as soon as Luke says he's sorry...she goes right back. I seriously questioned Luke's motives. I know of no 18 year old boys who are that deep. I also kept thinking every time Ella threw a fit and verbally attacked him or told him to stay away from her that he would say..."you're crazy...I'm done," but no he just kept taking it. Then he pulls the bs move at the end of the book. I don't really find the whole of the book believable, but was a good read.
I had a difficult time reading the book because it switched from 1st person POV to narrated and back. There was one paragraph I had to read 3 times just to figure out what the author was saying because of this. There were a few typos and grammatical errors, but overall not too bad.
So all the negative being said, I am curious to read the follow up. I think the author is touching on subjects that are difficult to write about. I also like that the characters seem real. So many books it is the beautiful rich girl who is strong willed falling in love with the guy who is perfect as well. It was rather refreshing to be able to read a character that could be me or one of my friends.
